Our History
Eduard and I are Italian, we met in 2010. We had many passions in common such as ballroom dancing, motorcycles and travel. In 2014 we got married and decided to move to nearby Switzerland for 6 years. In that period we made many trips including an 'on the road' tour of Scotland and we fell in love ... Obviously countries like Italy and Switzerland are fabulous for a million reasons but in this land we felt an almost inexplicable call. In fact, in one way or another, between our travels every year we found the excuse to go back to Scotland at least a week and every time we said to ourselves "when we retire we will come and stay here, open a B&B and grow old in the Highlands. Scots "... Well ... we were born in 1979 so there was still a long way to go ...
Then came 2019, a year that in many ways put us to the test and one evening while we were walking after dinner I said to Eduard "you know, this plan to go to Scotland when we are retired seems to me rather optimistic, like if it were taken for granted that both of us will reach that goal with the strength and skills to face that wonderful adventure ... What do you think? "
Needless to say, we thought about it for months and then decided to leave room for fate one more time, we left at the end of October for a 2 week holiday in Scotland and ... Well, Eduard found a job and in short January 2020 we landed here!
Yes, I know what you are thinking ... What a bad year to move to a decidedly "out of the way" country !!
Well, it was hard and after a 2020 to be forgotten we took courage once again and went ahead with our "pension dream" and here we are!
April 2022 Outlander Boutique B&B is born and her younger brother Relax Beauty & Care a small Beauty and massage studio (because 27 years of experience don't throw away like this :-) !!! ) in Aberdeenshire, the north-east region of Scotland, ironically the one we had visited very little!
Everything you will find here has been created with our hands and we hope it will give you a memory to carry forever in your heart ... We are waiting for you!
